Kausar Nag Trek

Kausar Nag or Konsar Nag (Previous name - Vishnupad Lake) is a high-altitude oligotrophic lake located at an elevation of 3962.4 metres (13000ft) above sea level. Kausar Nag is located in the Pir Panjal mountain range in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The lake is roughly 3km (2 mi) long and .75 km at the widest point. It is believed that Manu's boat that carried the Vedas and the Saptarishi was stuck near this lake after the Great Flood ( in the times of Noah AS).

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar

Day 2: Srinagar to Sonamarg

Day 3: Sonamarg to Nichnai
Start your trek from Sonamarg to Nichnai.

Set up camp at Nichnai and spend the night under the starry sky.

Day 4: Nichnai to Vishansar Lake
Trek from Nichnai to Vishansar Lake, which is one of the most picturesque lakes in the region.
The trail takes you through stunning landscapes, including alpine meadows and dense forests.
Set up camp near the lake and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Day 5: Explore Vishansar Lake
Spend the day exploring the Vishansar Lake and its surroundings.
You can go for a leisurely walk around the lake, indulge in photography, or simply relax in the peaceful atmosphere.
Overnight stay at the campsite near Vishansar Lake.

Day 6: Vishansar Lake to Kausar Nag
Continue your trek from Vishansar Lake to Kausar Nag, the highlight of the trek.
The trail is challenging but offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers.
Reach Kausar Nag and set up camp near the beautiful lake.
Spend the evening enjoying the tranquility and natural beauty of the area.

Day 7: Kausar Nag to Gangabal Lake
Trek from Kausar Nag to Gangabal Lake, another stunning high-altitude lake in the region.
The trail takes you through rocky terrain and offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
Set up camp near Gangabal Lake and spend the night amidst the pristine wilderness.

Day 8: Gangabal Lake to Naranag and Return to Srinagar
After breakfast, trek from Gangabal Lake to Naranag.
From Naranag, drive back to Srinagar.
Arrive in Srinagar, check into your hotel, and relax.
In the evening, you can take a shikara ride on Dal Lake and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
Transfer to the Srinagar International Airport for your onward journey.
